Day 49 (October 8, 2006) - Redding, CA | |||
|
Petr: I am going to Redding, CA today. Last night I had a conversation with a fellow RVer in the camp. He's a local and has been pretty much everywhere. Knowing about our trip, he dispenses advice left and right about where to go and what to see in Colorado and Utah. He gives me his business card and I learn that, on top of being a dentist, he races cars, has a passion for trains (he is building his own railway in his backyard) and has a Harley-Davidson. The way to Redding takes me through a deep gorge in the Trinity forest, but I cannot stop for pictures. I also pass by the Wiskeytown lake, where there are salmon ladders and the view is really beautiful. Laura: As expected, I was unable to get up early. We have plans for breakfast in the North End, where my friend Phil joins us for cappuccino and a nice little chat with Nonno Angelo, the owner of Caffè dello Sport on Hanover Street. Francesca and I then continue with some shopping downtown Boston and lunch at Fanueuil Hall. It's again an amazing warm day in MA, unbelievable. By the time we get home it's mid-afternoon and my back is killing me, so I will have to postpone my bike ride until tomorrow. We have dinner at a local Mexican and I go to bed early. |
